Hey there,
I've been trying to come up with more creative ways to mix my stream and I was looking at using some of my Waves plugins to help fill the void. It seems, however, that the 'WaveShell' application (which I believe is their wrapper) is not supported. After navigating to my audio source > filters > add VST > then select it from the dropdown, OBS crashes. I was able to reproduce this multiple times. See the attached log for more info!
As an additional note, I've been using ReaPlugs as my VST options for awhile. I'm an audio engineer, so I have a decent understanding of how this works. Happy to delve further into this as well as look into what other VSTs might work/not work with OBS. I've been using OBS for a couple of years and I love how powerful it is all around. But I definitely would love to see some improvements in the audio realm. Happy to help however I can there.
Before I forget; I'm currently using Waves v9.92 (an older version, but still has VST support and works in my DAWs) to test this issue.

This option is called ‘ Bypass audio while opening plug-in config window ‘ in the Plug-insVST settings. The good news is REAPER doesn’t crash anymore, the downside is playback glitches momentarily when inserting a plugin or opening the UI (which is the reason I disabled it before). If REAPER is crashing.
Hey, guys. I have a time using lmms, but, seriously, i'm a total newbie to it. I installed the latest version of lmms, and i tried to use some vts that i was using, but the program doesn't charge them. I try to charge the vts's that i have, especially the base plugin (Ample Bass P II Lite), and it crash every time i try to use not only the base, but the rest of the plugins. So:
1. How do i fix this?
2. Do you, guys, know some other bass plugin that doesn't crash my lmms program?
I checked the list of tested vts, but it doesn't help me.

Reaper Project Crashed All Vst Plugins Not Working Mac
- Hi all, This is weird. One day, my VST plugins are all working fine. The next, Reaper is in total denial of their existence. I have not installed any new software on the machine in the time between when my plugins WERE working and when they ceased to work. I've checked the Prefs. The path to my plugins folder is valid.
- Jun 30, 2011 This last thing, to clear the cache and re-scan, you can try whenever plugins you expect to see, do not show up. Note that prior to Reaper v.3.2 (was it?) 32-bit plug-ins do not work straight away in 64-bit Reaper and they will not even show up during scanning. You need the JBridge (or something similar) to use 32 bit VST plug-ins in a x64 host.
