The sound of the ensemble is easily customizable with many options in the advanced user interface. Each instrument also allows full stereo field control with individual volume, panning, output routing, and new distance control that allows you to freely mix the direct signal with a more spacious and ambient microphone position.
Intimate Studio Woodwinds contains a vast collection of 26 articulations covering everything you need to create authentic woodwind melodies. Each articulation is divided into four main categories, so they are all easily and quickly accessible from the built-in browser. Select articulations such as staccato, staccatissimo, sustain, trills and legato from the traditional category. Or choose more subtle techniques such as measured tremolo and tempo sync phrases such as duols and triplets from our performance category. Finally, the Arcs and Effects categories contain dynamically layered arcs of varying lengths and a range of effects such as Runs, Scoops, and Flutter Tonguing. In the main patch, everything is conveniently placed in one easy-to-use interface, so you can focus on making music even faster. In addition, we’ve included individual patches for each articulation, offering you a variety of ways to accurately load your desired play styles and allowing you to choose the perfect workflow for your next production.
In both the main patch and individual articulation patches, each instrument in an ensemble can be instantly loaded and unloaded, allowing you to choose exactly which players you want. Each instrument features volume control, panning, mute, solo and our unique mic distance control for complete control over studio sound. We’ve also included individual output routing options for each instrument so that you can easily assign each instrument to an independent track in your DAW.
Intimate Studio Woodwinds was created from over 160 hours of flawless studio recordings. Every articulation is recorded and processed with the greatest care, all instruments are recorded simultaneously and in complete isolation. The advanced recording techniques included allow you to mix any combination of instruments while maintaining an authentic, believable and symmetrical ensemble sound.
We’ve also included basic controls that affect all of the instruments in the ensemble. The main controls include Dynamics (CC1) and Expression (CC11), which can be linked using the provided switch, Speed Control (CC16) and Sample Offset Control to create tighter legato passages. We’ve also included a global noise switch that re-introduces analog noise that was captured during sessions, perfect for recreating the natural sound of a room and giving you the feeling of a live recording.
